Media Production in the OLC Studios

Over 70 faculty members from across all Pace colleges, schools, and divisions have produced video for their courses and projects in collaboration with OLC staff this year. We held 364 hours of collaborative work sessions and consultations (an increase of 50% from the previous year) and collaboratively produced 417 videos (a decrease of about 5% from the previous year – the Year of the Paralegal Certificate). With each video averaging about 6 minutes in length, this totals over 43 hours of instructional video. It was an innovative year  as well – we opened our studio in Pleasantville in March, and have collaborated with faculty on new software platforms as well.

We’re looking forward to new and diverse projects in 2024! See OLC Monthly Updates for project highlights (and video examples). As always, please contact OLC staff with your questions, ideas, or production needs.

Highlights and Upcoming

  • – The OLC collaborated with Professor Marie Charles to create a video on Nursing Care of Patients with Disabilities. Covering both physical and intellectual disabilities, the four experts in this video share their amazing experiences. Look for this video soon on CHP’s website.
  • – Brian will present on “AI in Video Production” at the Pace Online Conference (1/16). In addition to discussing current trends in AI tools, he will demonstrate using generative AI in Adobe Express.
  • – The OLC will begin working with Haub faculty in January to create asynchronous course content.
  • – The Paralegal Certificate Program has launched!

Production Tip of the month: Create background images for your lecture slides. Change the opacity to 50% so it’s not the focus, but still creates interest and provides visual context. This can also be a great way to show your sense of humor.
